Decisions, Decisions
I don't know what I want to be when I grow up. Most people probably think I should have this all figured out by now, as I am not exactly a teenager anymore, but I am more stumped now than when I was in high school. I have been thinking that I "do" a lot of things, and I enjoy most of them, but the problem is that none of them are strictly "for me". With the economy being in the dumper, there is that small urge to somehow contribute to my own family's economy, but I don't want to work a job for the sake of working a job. I love being at home, and homeschooling my kids, so whatever I do needs to fit around those desires and be something that I WANT to do. I guess you could say that I want my cake and eat it too. My husband has endless vision and pursuits that he wants to accomplish, but with me, there is no one thing that is crystal clear, that screams to me "that's it!" I am kicking around the possibility of going back to school. I know where my general interest lies, but translating that into a worthwhile employment venture that I know I would love, seems daunting. Plus there is the OVERLY practical side of me, that says, "school costs too much money", or "what if I fail?" I seriously doubt I would fail academically, but what if I fail at translating that additional education into a "career". My husband prompted these ambitious thoughts, because I always support him in what he wants to do, but now he wants it to be his turn to support me. I don't want the opportunity to slip away, but I am confused and maybe a little scared. I have been the supporter for so long now, I don't know if I know how to actually be the doer anymore.
